Suspect in NH I-89 hit-and-run arrested after crash caught on camera

GRANTHAM — Police have arrested the hit-and-run driver from the crash on Interstate 89 at his home Tuesday afternoon.

Henry Carnevale, 65, of Newbury, has been charged with reckless conduct and conduct after an accident.

Police said Carnevale was operating a white 2003 Ford Explorer when he passed a Volkswagon Jetta and then merged back in front of the Volkswagon while braking, which resulted in a rear-end collision at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The driver of the Volkswagon was taken to the hospital along with a child passenger for non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision was caught on video.

He was arraigned Wednesday in Newport Circuit Court and was released on $25,000 PR bail.
