Survey: NH average rent cost on the rise, vacancy rates drop

The cost of rent for two-bedroom apartments in New Hampshire has increased nearly 15 percent since 2011, a survey by New Hampshire Housing stated.

The average cost for rent in the Granite State – which includes utilities – is $1,206 per month.

Additionally, the state vacancy rate has fallen to 1.5 percent. The release also states that Hillsborough, Merrimack and Rockingham counties all have lower vacancy rates than they did in 2015.

New Hampshire Housing said that the survey’s results are consistent with those on the national level.
