Surry man dies after being hit by SUV in Fitzwilliam


FITZWILLIAM - One person is dead after being hit by a SUV on Route 12.

Police said 63-year-old Edward Weeks, of Surry, had been directing traffic in a construction zone at 8:50 a.m. Friday when he was hit by a 2009 Nissan Rogue being driven by Pamela Denomme, 20, of Rhode Island.

Members of the Fitzwilliam and Diluzio Ambulance attended to Weeks, but he died of his injuries on scene.

Weeks was an employee of New England Traffic Control.

Members of the Fitzwilliam Police Department, Troy Police Department, Fitzwilliam Ambulance and Diluzio Ambulance responded to the scene.
