A scary night Thursday for high schoolers at Westfield High School in Indiana. Video shows the final act of the stage version of "American Pie" appearing to go off without a hitch, but then the stage suddenly collapsed beneath the performers. Nearly two-dozen students were hurt and at least one student was critically injured, but that student was said to doing much better on Friday.
They fell about eight feet to an orchestra pit below the stage. About 75 students were involved in the production.
The high school incident brought back some bad memories. In 2011 a stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair. The stage's temporary roof structure landed on a crowd. Seven people were killed and 58 were injured.
