Strong second half carries North past Merrimack

Senior running back Myles Cassin-Reed rushed for 81 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries to help Nashua North defeat Merrimack 28-14 Thursday night at Stellos Stadium.

Joe Giampietro's 78-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter helped Merrimack take a 14-7 lead, but the Titans scored the final 21 points of the half.

Cassin-Reed scored on runs of 8, 3 and 15 yards. His 3-yard TD run gave North a 19-14 lead with 10:01 to play.

North sophomore Max Fay added 144 yards rushing on 26 carries.

The victory raised North's record to 2-3, Merrimack dropped its third straight game and fell to 2-3.

Merrimack's other TD came on a 9-yard TD run from quarterback Justin Grassini. North also scored on a 5-yard pass from quarterback Colby Gunter to Levi Gosselin.
