Stratham fire damages family home

NH1.com

STRATHAM — A Stratham family out for a night at the movies discovered on Friday that the real drama was back at their home.

"your home is on fire, come home, this is no joke." is the text Eric Katzman received from his neighbor at 8:12 p.m., according to seacoastonline.com.

The Stratham Fire Department responded to the 7:56 call to 121 Stratham Heights Road.

The home was severely damaged and the cause for the fire is still under investigation. The firefighters were able to rescue the family dog and was treated at the Brentwood Animal Hospital and Fire Chief, Robert Cook, believes it will survive.

The Red Cross has stepped in to assist the Katzman family with their needs during this time.

Stratham Heights Road was closed for several hours following the fire.
