Stenson takes lead with 6-under 66, late surge at Bay Hill

The Associated Press

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Henrik Stenson of Sweden made a 20-foot eagle and a tap-in birdie over the last three holes at Bay Hill to seize control Saturday in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Stenson had his second straight 6-under 66 for a two-shot lead over Morgan Hoffmann, who had a 71.

Six players were separated by three shots going into the final round, including defending champion Matt Every.

Rory McIlroy looked like he would be among them. The world's No. 1 player pulled to within one shot of the lead on the back nine until he made three straight bogeys. McIlroy missed a 3-foot par putt on the 15th and took bogey on the par-5 16th. He had to settle for a 71 and was six back.

Stenson was at 16-under 200.
