Steinhauser: Trump remains on top in new NH1 News Poll of Polls, but Rubio rising

NH1 Political Director -

CONCORD – With less than three months to go until primary day, Donald Trump remains the candidate to beat in New Hampshire’s Republican presidential primary.

But a new NH1 News Poll of Polls indicates that Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida is on the rise.

Trump was at 26% among likely GOP primary voters in the Granite State, according to the poll of polls which was compiled and released on Monday. The poll of polls averages the four surveys in the first-in-the-nation primary state conducted entirely after the fourth Republican presidential debate and entirely after the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris.

Rubio, who’s numbers are on the rise thanks in part to a bunch of well received GOP debate performances, stands at 13%. Famed neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who’s a solid second in national polling, stands at 11%, with Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, who’s also seen his poll numbers rise, at 10%.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, the one-time GOP front runner, is at 8%, along with Ohio Gov. John Kasich. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie stands at 5%, followed by Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky and former Hewlett Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina each at 4%. Everyone else in the 14-candidate Republican field is at 1% or less.

The public opinion surveys averaged in the latest edition of the NH1 News Poll of Polls are Suffolk University/Boston Globe (Nov. 17-19), CBS News/YouGov (Nov. 15-19), Fox News (Nov. 15-17), and MassINC/WBUR (Nov. 14-15).
