Steinhauser: Sanders headed back to NH this weekend

NH1 Political Director -

CONCORD – Bernie Sanders is coming back to New Hampshire this weekend.

It’s the second visit to the Granite State this month for the independent senator from Vermont, and fourth since he announced on April 30th that he was running for the Democratic presidential nomination.

And Sanders’ campaign tells NH1 News that it will be opening a first-in-the-nation primary state office in “the next week or so.” The office will be located at 117 Manchester Street in Concord. The Sanders campaign adds that it has three New Hampshire based full time employees right now “and growing.”

Sanders kicks off his weekend swing with a 10:30am Saturday morning Nashua Town Meeting at Nashua Community College. At 2pm Sanders will attend a Bow House Party at the home of Ron and Meredith Abramson. He ends his day with a 6pm Henniker Town Meeting at New England College’s Simon Center.

Sunday Sanders holds a Rochester Town Meeting at 10:30am at Governor’s Inn. That’s followed by a 1:30pm Durham Town Meeting at Oyster River High School and a 4pm Laconia Town Meeting at Lake Opechee Inn.

Sanders has been drawing large crowds lately. Saturday officials at the University of Denver in Colorado estimated that nearly 5,000 people packed the school’s gym to see Sanders.

The darling of the left has also jumped in recent weeks in polling in the Granite State.
