Steinhauser: First on NH1 News - Gov. Hassan on the move
CONCORD - Gov. Maggie Hassan and her family are moving from Exeter one town north to Newfields.
NH1 News learned Tuesday morning that the two-term Democratic governor and her husband Tom on Monday purchased a home in Newfields.
New Hampshire's first gentleman has served as principal of the renowned Phillips Exeter Academy, and the Hassan family lives in a home provided by the school. But Tom Hassan is stepping down at the end of this semester from the position he's held since 2009, requiring the family to move. Tom Hassan began working at Phillips Exeter Academy in 1989 as a director of college counseling.
The Hassan's are parents to two children, Ben (25) and Meg (21).
No word yet on when the family will move into their new home.
