CONCORD – Score one for the Manchester Democrats.
Hillary Clinton will serve as the main attraction at the city party’s Flag Day dinner on June 15, when the overwhelming frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination returns to New Hampshire in two weeks.
Clinton returns to the Granite State two days after giving a “major” speech” in New York City on Saturday, June 13, which aides say will serve as the former secretary of state’s “official campaign launch” for her second bid for the White House.
Following that address, Clinton will travel to Iowa, where she’ll spend Saturday evening and all day Sunday. After her swing through the first-in-the-nation primary state on Monday, Clinton will be in South Carolina on Wednesday June 17 and in Nevada the next day.
This will be Clinton’s third trip to New Hampshire since announcing her presidential campaign on April 12. Since then Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley have also announced bids for the Democratic presidential nomination. Lincoln Chafee, the former Republican senator of Rhode Island turned independent governor turned Democrat, is expected to announce his run for the Democratic nomination on Wednesday.
Last year O’Malley headlined the Manchester Democrat’s Flag Day dinner, which is one of the biggest fundraisers the city party holds each year.
