Statehouse eagle gets a patriotic make-over for Fourth of July

CONCORD - The eagle atop the Statehouse got a patriotic make-over Friday, with workers adorning the fixture with an Uncle Sam hat and patriotic lei. It seems workers for D.L. King & Associates decided the eagle needed a little more than the gold for this Fourth of July.

"It's once in a generation this will happen," said Bill Pritchard, project manager, as he explained how he came up with the idea to dress up the eagle. "I mean, it's Fourth of July.

All the comments have been positive and it's good to see the eagle get the make-over it deserves," he said.
