State fire marshal says two fires in Pittsfield were arson; suspects sought

PITTSFIELD - Two fires in the last two days at 21 Park St. have been ruled arson by the state fire marshal's office.

The fires involved an occupied two-unit apartment building, with one fire reported at 11:45 p.m. on April 7 and the second at 4:15 on April 8. An investigation has determined that the fires were intentionally set.

The fire marshal's office along with the Pittsfield police and fire departments are asking anyone with information about these fires to contact the State Arson Hot Line at 800-400-3526 or the Pittsfield Police Department at 603-435-7535.
