Standing Lincoln statue will return home to NH in June

CORNISH — Come June, President Lincoln will return to New Hampshire where the original Standing Lincoln was created by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens.

The statue is considered to be the most important of Lincoln dating to the 19th century.

The new Standing Lincoln will be unveiled on June 26 at the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site.

A ceremony is being held June 26 at 1 p.m. The 12th NH Regiment Serenade Band will perform.

The Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site is New Hampshire's only national park.
