'Spooked' horse sends 3 people to the hospital

SWANZEY — Three people were sent to the hospital after a horse was spooked at the Cheshire Fair late Friday evening.

The ambulance was called at about 6 p.m. at the Horse Show Ring and involved two horse competitors and a spectator, fair officials told the Union Leader.

Police scanner reports stated that one person sustained a broken arm, another had a fractured hip and another sustained a head injury.

The horse was apparently "spooked," before the incident occurred and spectators entered the ring to try and calm down the horse.
