Splash Pad to open in Manchester at former Dupont Pool

MANCHESTER — Kids might soon have new spot to cool off.

Officials reported work is progressing on a new splash pad at the former Dupont Pool, and circled Aug. 1 as a tentative opening date.

The chief of Parks, Recreation and Cemetery division, Don Pinard, told the Union Leader that, "the project is moving forward."

Pinard has hoped that the area would be completed and open this past Memorial Day, but contractors lacked interest which delayed construction.

Splash pads normally have nozzles that spray water from the ground as well as toy-like features like a mushroom or tree shower.
