Somersworth police issue Amber Alert for missing 1-year-old

SOMERSWORTH - Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 1-year-old boy.

One-year-old Malachi Grant is described as 34 inches tall, weighing 33 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Malachi was wearing a lime green T-shirt with black stripes, black shorts and navy blue sneakers.

He was last seen with his father Jeremiah Grant, 33, of Berwick, Maine, around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Grant is described as 6 feet tall, 275 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his left neck saying “Alpha Male”, his upper left arm of a skull, his left forearm with the inscription “INSANE”, with a cross above it. Also on the left forearm has the inscription “GRANT”. On the right inner forearm he also has a tattoo of a skull.

Grant was last seen wearing a bright yellow Haines T-shirt and black pants.

Grant is operating a gray 1991 4-door Honda Accord with New Hampshire registration plates of 2854569.

Grant is not the owner of the vehicle. Police said Grant took the child from his mother without her consent after making comments that lead investigators to believe that the child and Grant are in danger.

Police believe that Grant is mentally unstable and is a danger to himself and others.

Grant does have a criminal history and is a registered sex offender. Somersworth police said they have concerns about the care of the child, including if he has access to food.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Somersworth Police Department at 692-3131 or your local Law Enforcement Agency.
