Somersworth flies rainbow flag in support of Orlando victims

SOMERSWORTH — Mayor Dana Hilliard held a brief ceremony at City Hall Monday to honor the victims of the Orlando massacre, hoisting a rainbow flag underneath the American flag in front of City Hall.

“As an American I mourn the loss of my fellow citizens,” Hilliard said. “As a member of the LBGTQ community I will continue to honor each of their lives by dedicating mine towards social justice. Like members of my community, I believe in this nation and its dream.”

Joining Hilliard in the ceremony was his partner Sean Peschel, several city and school officials, and some residents.

The ceremony can be viewed below.
