Some groups may apply for up to $2m in disaster relief following NH blizzard
CONCORD (AP) — Groups such as food kitchens, homeless shelters, community centers, libraries and schools may be eligible for low-interest rate disaster loans following a presidential disaster declaration for assistance resulting from a New Hampshire blizzard in mid-March.
Groups in Belknap and Carroll counties, called private nonprofit organizations, are eligible to apply. They may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets. The interest rate is 2.5 percent with terms up to 30 years.
The Small Business Administration also offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working capital needs, such as ongoing operating expenses.
