Snowmobile catches fire on trail in Campton

CAMPTON - A snowmobile that caught fire on a trail near the Branch Brook Campground was completely destroyed on Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters say they got a call around 3 p.m. and were able to reach the burning snowmobile in the woods thanks to the lack of snow cover. The 1990s model Arctic Cat was fully involved when they arrived and little was left of the machine even through the fire was put out within minutes.
No one was injured. The remains of the machine were removed from the trial. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
