Snow, ice lead to accidents and one ski area closure

An overnight storm has caused icy conditions around the state Sunday.

There were numorous accidents, including one involving a Department of Public Works truck in Portsmouth. The truck glanced the side of a city vehicle at City Hall, police said.

McIntyre in Manchester closed its ski area because of the conditions. Other mountains, like Loon, were taking advantage of the snow on the last day before the end of the school holiday break.

Several power outages also occured. As of 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Public Service Company of New Hampshire had only 169 customers without power, mostly in the southern portion of the state.
