Smoke sends Manchester NH apartment resident to hospital
MANCHESTER- The resident of a Manchester apartment was taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after firefighters arrived to put out a fire Sunday night.
Firefighters were called to 109 English Village Road for a reported fire shortly after 9:00 p.m. and arrived at the apartment to heavy smoke in apartment 104. Crews extinguished a fire in the unit's kitchen and smoke was evacuated from the building.
The apartment's occupant was taken by ambulance to Catholic Medical Center for treatment.
The fire caused about $8,000 damage to the apartment and investigators have deemed the cause accidental.
