Small memorial set up for NH man murdered in Manchester's Prout Park

MANCHESTER — Three days have passed but few details have been released about how a Manchester man died early Sunday morning.

A small memorial has been set up in Prout Park near the spot Richard Carlson's body was found. Investigators identified the 61-year-old victim yesterday and ruled his death was a homicide but haven't shared any other details. The memorial has the victim's name, the date of his death, and says rest his soul.

Witnesses say they heard shots around 3 a.m. near the park, but police responded to a call around 6 in the morning, when his body was found.

Neighbors say the park is not somewhere to be after dark. Since police have lessened bike and foot patrols in the area, neighbors say, drug and violent crimes have increased.

Manchester Police are still investigating and have asked anyone with information to call them at (603)-668-8711 and ask for "detectives."
