Believe it or not, eight of our past presidents lacked a formal education beyond their childhood schooling, including George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

Another three attended college but did not graduate.

However, those presidents served early in U.S. history. From the time of Teddy Roosevelt on, all of our presidents have had at least an undergraduate degree and many have had advanced degrees, most commonly in law, though George W. Bush has an MBA.
