Skier airlifted from Waterville Valley ski resort to hospital after accident

WATERVILLE VALLEY - A skier injured at the Waterville Valley ski resort on Sunday was airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

General Manager Tim Smith said the skier apparently collided with a tree. He was brought down the mountain by ski patrol around 12:30 p.m. and received some initial care from Waterville firefighters before the medical helicopter landed in the ski resort's parking lot.

Smith said the ski area will be conducting an investigation into the incident, but he did not have any immediate information about the injured man.
