Six alarm fire in Newbury, Mass. leaves firefighter hurt, other injuries unknown

NEWBURY, Mass. — Officials and rescue crews have contained the now six-alarm fire on 20th Street in Newbury where people were trapped inside, police say.

A large structure caught fire and the fire spread to other buildings. About five buildings were damaged.

Injuries have been reported, unclear of the extent, and the amount of people affected.

A firefighter was injured in the rescue efforts.

Multiple aids were on the scene. They were "requesting everyone," according to Rockingham Alerts at about 1:15 p.m.
