Short vehicle pursuit ends in arrest for meth possession in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH — A short vehicle pursuit ended in an arrest after police allegedly found methamphetamine inside the suspect's jeep.

Travis Tulo, 31, of Durham, and his passenger Kyle Haggett, 21, of Exeter, were arrested and taken into custody after an incident that began at approximately 1:55 a.m. on Saturday.

Police tried to stop a 2011 Jeep Patriot for a motor vehicle moving violation. Tulo, the driver, did not stop, and led police on a low-speed pursuit that ended at a residential driveway on Maplewood Avenue. Police say they found a half ounce of methamphetamine in jeep.

Tulo was held on $10,000 cash bail, and was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. Hagget was held on $5,000 cash bail, and he was charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled drug. Both will be arraigned Nov. 7.
