Shelter in place lifted in Manchester
MANCHESTER - The shelter-in-place order for the west side of Manchester has been lifted, police said.
There is no confirmation as to whether the man who shot two police officers early this morning has been caught.
The shelter in place was in the area of Wayne Street, Putnam Street, and Rimmon streets. It was issued after the 2 a.m. shootings of two officers, one in the area of Ferry and Second streets. The second officer was shot in the area of Putnam and Dubuque streets. Police Chief Nick Willard said the officers are OK and is not releasing their names at this time.
One of the officers was taken to Catholic Medical Center and the other was taken to Elliot Hospital.
Schools in the west end of Manchester as well as Granite State College's Manchester location are closed for the day because of the search.
CMC also has said access is limited at its facility until further notice.
