MANCHESTER — A distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack against DynDNS was causing serious issues online for the East Coast.

Dyn DNS Company is an Internet performance management company, offering products to monitor, control, and optimize online infrastructure, and also domain registration services and email products.

Big name sites like Twitter, Reddit, SoundCloud, Spotify and Shopify have been affected. Dyn acknowledged the problem on Twitter, for those who could access the site.

"We are aware of the ongoing service interruption of our Managed DNS network. For more information visit our status page," Dyn tweeted at about 8:30 a.m.

Sites like Twitter, SoundCloud, Spotify and Shopify are all experiencing issues due to the outage, according to Tech Crunch.
