Senior volunteer award nominees sought

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services is seeking nominations for the 2016 Joseph D. Vaughan Volunteer award.
The award recognizes outstanding leadership and initiative of the state's senior volunteers.
Award coordinator Roger Vachon said, "the Vaughan Awards are a terrific way to recognize their volunteer service on behalf of seniors in communities throughout the state."
The awards began in 1962 in memory of Joseph D. Vaughan, a New Hampshire legislator who advocated for New Hampshire's older residents.
The award honors both individuals and couples age 60 or older who demonstrate outstanding leadership or notable volunteer achievment of those working for New Hampshire's older residents.
EngAGING NH and the State Committee on Aging will select one winning nominee from each county. Winners will be honored during a Statehouse ceremony in Concord on Monday, May 2, 2016.
Nominations must be received by March 11, 2016. Nominations can be emailed to engagingnh@gmail.com or mailed to Vaughan Awards Committee c/o Roger Vachon, 19 Centerwood Drive, Concord, New Hampshire 03301. For more information, contact Roger Vachon at 223-6903.
