Sen. Shaheen, Gov. Hassan highlight NH addiction hotline

The Associated Press

NASHUA (AP) — U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and Gov. Maggie Hassan highlighted a 24-hour addiction crisis hotline in New Hampshire.

The event was Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Nashua.

The 24-hour service is a statewide crisis hotline that connects people affected by substance abuse with recovery assistance.

Shaheen and Hassan, both Democrats, will make remarks on the opioid epidemic. Hassan is seeking the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Republican Kelly Ayotte.

Ayotte's supporters have charged that Hassan hasn't done enough to combat the opioid epidemic.
