Selectmen in Weare looking to make interim police chief permanent
The Associated Press
WEARE — Selectmen in the town of Weare, New Hampshire, want the interim police chief take on a more permanent role.
The town is looking for a police chief after the last one resigned in October following accusations he assaulted his personal assistant.
Sean Kelly has been interim police chief. The Concord Monitor reports there will be two public meetings to allow residents to discuss the matter. If confirmed, Kelly would be a part-time police chief. He is a retiree who returned to work in the public sector.
Selectmen say they are looking for stability.
Kelly said he'd be happy to stay on if residents agree with the selectmen.
