MANCHESTER - A second man is under arrest in the shooting death of Michael Pitman.
Adrian Stillwell, 21, was arrested Friday evening and charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the shooting on Nov. 3, according to the Manchester police and the N.H. Attorney General.
Michael Younge, 25, was arrested on Nov. 18 and charged with first-degree murder alleging he purposely caused the death of Michael Pitman, 37, by shooting him in the torso outside of 472 Granite Street.
Stillwell's arraignment is scheduled for Monday at the 9th Circuit Court in Manchester.
Meanwhile Younge was in court today as lawyers try to determine if there is probable cause to try Younge for murder. Pittman's widow also sat in the courtroom and listened to the proceedings.
“Mr. Pittman had been suffering from addiction to narcotics and that he had recently been arrested. He was concerned that his drug suppliers were upset with him and would do him harm,” Detective Patrick Houghton of the Manchester police testified in court on Friday.
Houghton is the lead investigator in the Pittman homicide.
Other testimony suggested the accused had a prior history of selling drugs, while Pittman had a history of using drugs.
Immediately after the the shooting, the scene was searched and a revolver was recovered. But no fingerprints were found on the gun. Ballistics revealed that 5 shots were fired that November night; two entered Pittman’s torso ultimately killing him.
Younge was later identified as a potential suspect and his photo was released to the media.
“He said that’s me on the news. He told this dispatcher that he wanted to make contact with police and that he was going to go approach police and he in fact did that,” said Houghton.
The judge has yet to make a ruling on whether there is probable cause.
