Search continues for missing Canadian in Mount Washington area
JACKSON - New Hampshire Fish and Game is still looking for a Canadian man last seen May 9 in the Mount Washington area.
Francois Carrier, 47, of Drummonville, Quebec, checked into a Gorham motel on May 7 and checked out May 9. He then went to the AMC Pinkham Notch Visitor Center where he at lunch. At approximately 3:45 p.m., he was seen by a Department of Transportation employee walking along Route 16 heading north.
Search and rescue teams from New Hampshire State Police, AVSAR, AMC, Pemi, Mount Washington State Park and, Fish and Game conservation officers as well as teams from Maine have been conducting line searches in the area, natigating what is described as rugged terrain.
The New Hampshire Air National Guard flew search patterns over the area for hours Friday.
