Seabrook fields calls for more than 30 mailboxes destroyed by plows
SEABROOK - More than 30 mailboxes have been reportedly damaged by plows or the force of snow over the winter season in Seabrook.
DPW Director John Starkey told NH1 News that the number isn't surprising because of the amount of snow received on the Seacoast this year.
Starkey said his department has received about three dozen calls and is offering to investigate any report of damaged mailboxes. If the DPW appears at fault, Starkey said the department will replace the mailbox.
Many towns do not offer a replacement for damaged mailboxes, even if city plow drivers are at fault.
Portsmouth police also tells NH1 News there was a "significant uptick" in the number of cars struck by city plows this year.
