HAMPTON - Artists from around the United States and Canada have descended upon Hampton Beach to turn its sand into sculptures.
The 16th annual Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Classic officially kicks off Thursday, but today the 16 sculptors begin their work when 200 tons of imported sand is dropped on the beach. The winner of the best sculpture will be announced at 8 p.m. on the Sea Shell Stage and will take home $3,000.
