Scrambling for a last-minute Valentine's Day gift? NH Made is here to help

CONCORD - Flowers and chocolate are the most popular gifts on Feb. 14th.

While there are many local florists and candy shops, NH1 News got a look from "New Hampshire Made," at what unique gifts you can get - created right in your own neighborhood.

There's art from Just Jill, fruit with a custom message, or Fantastic Fortune Cookies with a personalized note.

"We had a board meeting recently and we put all of our fax for the board meeting in custom fortune cookies and all the board members opened them," Ann Vennard from New Hampshire Made.

Don't forget about puppy love. Gunther's Goodies has a twist on a childhood tradition.

"They have custom Valentines that you can bring for your dog for doggie day care."

Visit one of the over 30 different wineries or breweries in the state and pair the trip with a local brew like Beara Irish Brewing Co. new beer “Devil."

Or for a different, alcohol-free blend, Cozy Tea Cart has a variety of loose-tea flavors that have become popular.

Each of the hundreds of small businesses across the state has a story, like Badgers organic skin care products.

"It's a family business. They employ several generations and they were featured recently because they do the whole bring your baby to work."

Buying any one of these items means that you're making a direct impact on the local economy. According to New Hampshire made, about 60 percent of every dollar goes back into the community.
