Salem police investigate explicit pictures of juvenile on student's phone
SALEM - Police are investigating the issue of Woodbury Middle School student possessing sexually explicit photos of a juvenile.
According to Salem police logs, the incident was reported at the school Wednesday afternoon.
"When it came to school officials' attention that this student was sharing that he had photos, we immediately notified the school resource officer and at that point, because of the nature of the reports, particularly with child protection acts on the books, we know that these are very serious and legal matters, so our SRO began to investigate," Salem Superintendent Michael Delahunty told the Eagle Tribune. "I believe he had the student's parents' cooperation, and worked with them and as a result of that, I believe the police department decided to have a report filed.
Police said only one student and no teachers or other adults were involved.
No arrests have been made.
