Salem police bust counterfeit money operation after 5 try to use fake bills at NH stores


SALEM - Police responded Monday afternoon to reports of counterfeit bills being passed at a Market Basket on South Broadway.

Managers of Market Basket and a Marshalls said a group had been passing the fake money in their stores.

Officers found 3 suspects, and were led to two others who police said were been passing counterfeits at Home Depot as well.

Police said one of the men tried to run away when police were talking to the suspects.

Nicole Jackson, Stephen Wolo, Prince Zuah, Kelvin Jarlee - all from Philadelphia, Penn. - and Helen Nascimento, of Nashua, were arrested.

They've all been charged with forgery and theft by deception.
