Salem man charged with breaking into 12 cars at apartment complex

SALEM - A Salem man was arrested Tuesday around 2 a.m. after several witnesses observed seeing the man breaking into a dozen cars.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the Westgate Arms apartment complex, and found Henry Shuman, 39 of Salem, ducked down beside a car.

Witnesses said the male had walked quickly between cars in the parking lot and officers were able to identity 12 cards that were broken into.

Shuman was arrested and charged with 12 counts of theft by unauthorized taking.

Shuman is expected to appear in court on Jan. 25.
