Running Strong: Epping woman hits Boston Marathon pavement to remember her friend


EPPING - Shannon Garwich, of Epping, is running the Boston Marathon in memory of her best friend Heidi Aubin who died of liver cancer.

Aubin was diagnosed with cancer when she was only 25 years old.

"I loved everything about her," said Garwich.

Shannon's raising money for the American Liver Foundation. As part of the "Run for Research Team" she's committed to help doctors find a cure for the rare form of cancer that claimed her friend's life.

Her co-worker, Lori Sullivan plans to be at the finish line on Monday.

"I'm so proud of her," she said.
