Runners battle high heat to fight cancer at 15th Rock N Race in Concord
Written by NH1 News on .
CONCORD — Runners and walkers from all over New Hampshire joined together to raise money to support programs and services at Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care.
To fight cancer this year, participants had to battle the heat, too. It was 90 degrees at start time.
Over 2,000 runners and walkers crossed the finish line, but 40-year-old Jim Johnson from Madison took first place with a time of 16:30.7. That was the fastest time by 30 seconds.
If you ran the race you can check your results here.
Since 2003, the Rock 'N Race event has donated more than $4 million to the Payson Center for Cancer Care.
