Team records: UNH is 0-1 overall (0-0 CAA); Lehigh is 0-1 overall (0-0 Patriot League).
Noteworthy: Lehigh quarterback Nick Shafnisky rushed for a career-high 121 yards on 19 carries in a 31-28 season-opening loss to James Madison last weekend. Shafnisky also completed 19-of-32 pass attempts for 214 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, and was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week. ... Lehigh ran for 287 yards on 49 carries against James Madison. It was the most yards a Lehigh team has gained on the ground since 2007. ... UNH middle linebacker Akil Anderson, the team's leading tackler last season, is doubtful because of a high ankle sprain suffered during the team's opener against Toledo. ... The Wildcats definitely won't have sophomore tight end Jordan Powell and junior cornerback Lamar Edmonds. Both players will be serving a one-game suspension for breaking team rules. ... Former Manchester Central wide receiver Troy Pelletier is in his freshman season at Lehigh, Pelletier, a Deerfield resident, spent last season at Bridgton (Maine) Academy. ... Noteworthy: This will be the 16th meeting between the programs. Southern Connecticut has a 13-2 advantage and has won the last 11 games. ... Southern Connecticut beat Saint Anselm 42-20 last season. ... Junior Shane Grayson made a 38-yard field goal with 3:26 left to left the Hawks to a 23-22 victory over Bowie State last weekend. It's the first time Saint Anselm won its opener since 2005. ... St. Anselm quarterback Yianni Gavalas completed 20 of 38 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Senior wide receiver Nick Marcella had five receptions for 71 yards. ... Junior linebacker Elijah Thomas and junior defensive back Carroll Bailey led the defense with seven tackles apiece. ... The Hawks will be seeking back-to-back victories for the first time since 2004.

Noteworthy: Mount Ida freshman running back Jaleel Battle ran for 203 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries to highlight Mount Ida's 21-14 loss to UMass-Dartmouth last Friday. Mount Ida (0-1) generated 276 yards of offense in that game, and 267 of that total came on the ground. ... Derry's Rob Giles kicked two field goals in Plymouth State's 20-13 overtime loss to Castleton State last Saturday, including one in the final minute that helped force overtime. Giles, who played at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, was named the MASCAC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in that game. ... Plymouth State defensive back Adam Chambers, a Hooksett resident who played at Trinity High School, made 13 tackles (nine solo) and forced a fumble in the loss. Senior running back Mark Hennessy led the offense with 99 yards rushing. He also completed a 51-yard pass late in the fourth quarter that set up the game-tying field goal.... Sandown's Josh David, a sophomore linebacker, is the only New Hampshire resident on the Mount Ida roster. David played for Timberlane Regional in Plaistow.
