Romanian woman accused of stabbing husband in testicles for 'failing to give flowers on International Women's Day'
DRAGOMIRESTI, East Romania - A Romanian woman is accused of stabbing her husband in the testicles last week.
According to the Telegraph, Ionel Popa, 40 of the Village of Dragomiresti was admitted to the hospital Tuesday morning after his wife, 40-year-old Marinela Benea stabbed him in the genitals when he failed to bring her flowers for International Women's Day.
Ionel required emergency surgery, after medical staff said that he suffered "stab wounds in the scrotal region," and that "his wife was upset because he didn't bring her flowers for Women's Day."
According to local news outlets, Marinela claims that the flowers story was made up and that they were arguing about his failure to do household chores instead.
She also claims the injury to Ionel's testicles was accidental, where police are still investigating the incident.
