Rollinsford teacher's girlfriend says he 'died of a broken heart'

DOVER - Emotions are running high following the death of Rollinsford Grade School gym teacher Bryant Lausberg.

His girlfriend, Kaylee Donovan, told NH1 news after a recent DWI, the school district would no longer allow him to coach - something that was not just his livelihood, but a very valuable part of his life - taken away.

"I know that he died of a broken heart and stress because of what he was going through," Donovan said.

Students returned to class Tuesday after hearing the news. The school posted a Facebook message telling the community about the loss. Lausberg was praised as being "an amazing teacher."

Parents are at a loss for words as they help the young students cope with the tragedy.

"She loved him, they actually have gym four out of five days out of the week so she spent a lot of time with him," said Jacqueline Gilmette, a parent. "He was also in charge of the Rec program that she goes to during the summer and she was going to try to be on the softball team that he coaches."

The cause of death for the 27-year-old is still not known, and Dover police are investigating, but there does not appear to be any criminal activity associated with his death.
