Rockingham Park owners plan to sell; defeat of latest casino bill at Statehouse blamed

SALEM - The owners of Rockingham Park have decided to sell.

The decision comes after years of unsuccessfully trying to get a casino bill passed by the state legislature.

In addition, Rockingham Park will face competition from a casino that's expected to open just across the border in Massachusetts in two to three years, the owners noted.

Rockingham Park was a horse-racing track that dated back to 1906. The venue now hosts only simulcast races.

The park is listed with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in Boston.
