Rock 'N Race in Concord raises millions over years for cancer care

CONCORD- More than six thousand runners and walkers took part in the 13th annual Rock 'N Race in Concord to benefit Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care. To date, the event has raised more than $4 million.

Many, like Dan Gauthier form teams in memory of a loved one. The Concord teacher started Team Taylor in 2007, after his six-year old daughter Taylor lost her battle with cancer in 2006. Team Taylor grows each year and raised has raised more than $70,000 for the Payson Center.

Survivors form their own teams like Amy's Advocates. Amy Mckean of Henniker was diagnosed in 2006 and is now in remission. Mckean had all of her treatment at the Payson Center and now gives back through the race.

Proceeds from the event go toward support programs and financial assistance for patients in need.
