Rochester police look for man who impersonated a police officer

ROCHESTER - Police are looking for a man they say impersonated a police officer, wearing a uniform and approaching two youths on Hanson Street on Saturday afternoon.

Police say the man was driving a black and white Crown Victoria and pulled up with lights flashing next to the juveniles, one of whom was carrying a baseball bat, shortly before 5 p.m. He reportedly told the kids it was illegal to be carrying a baseball bat in Rochester. He then took the bat and drove off with it.

Police say he was last see driving north on Wakefield Street. He is described as 5-foot-9-inches tall, with a medium build and clean shaven. He was wearing a uniform with one arm patch on his sleeve, a badge and a duty belt.
