Rochester police asking for public's help in identifying thief

ROCHESTER - The Rochester police department is asking for the public's help in identifying a thief.

On April 29, police said a woman was at the Hannaford on North Main Street, where she withdrew $150 cash and put the money into her purse.

Officials said the woman left her purse at the self-checkout and a male suspect was caught on camera stealing the money from the victim's bag.

The purse was returned to a manager by a different female shopper who did not go into the bag.

Police are asking anyone who can identify the suspect to contact the Rochester police department at (603) 330-7128 and use reference case #15-1866.
