Rochester police arrest 2 in alleged robbery at knifepoint
ROCHESTER - Two men have been charged with armed robbery after police say they lured a couple to a King Street address where one of them held a knife to the man's neck and demanded his wallet.
Police say the incident was reported by the couple who said they'd been directed by an unfamiliar man to an address on King Street to seek out an acquaintance who owed them money. While they were parked in the driveway, the man pulled a knife and took the wallet. He then reportedly ran away.
The couple found a police officer and reported the crime. A police dog was brought in to track the suspect, and the dog led them from King Street to 17 Winter St.
After getting a search warrant, police arrested two men in connection with the case.
Michael Elliott, 23, of 17 Winter St., Apt. 2 and Tyler Webber, 24, of 34 Lafayette St, Apt. 1, both of Rochester.
Elliott was charged with one count of armed robbery.
Webber was charged with theft by deception, conspiracy to commit robbery and falsifying physical evidence.
Both Elliott and Webber are in custody at the Strafford County jail and are scheduled to be arraigned by video on Monday at the Rochester District Court.
